PRESENTATION

Claire Prugnier Avocats was founded by Claire Prugnier in 2018 with the ambition of providing innovative and dynamic support to French and international players in the creative industries and more particularly the music industry, whether they are artists, authors, directors(producers), managers, producers (of phonograms and shows), publishers or entrepreneurs. 

 

It now comprises :

  • Claire Prugnier, admitted to the Paris Bar in 2008, has 20 years' experience in the field of intellectual property, both in firms specializing in the media and in record companies (she worked in London for 3 years for the production and publishing company of one of the world's best-known DJs).
  • Camille Mercier, initially a legal advisor in a record company, has been with Claire Prugnier Avocats since September 2021.
  • Lucile Vasse, member of the Paris Bar since 2019. In August 2022, she joined Claire Prugnier Avocats after 3 years' experience in a firm renowned for its expertise in the culture, media and communications sector. 
  • Nathaniel Schilli has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2012 and a partner of Claire Prugnier Avocats since 2020. With expertise in employment law, business law as well as civil and commercial litigation, he has gained valuable experience with a number of leading Parisian law firms.  

Together, they offer comprehensive legal support to players in the cultural industries: creation of structures, drafting and negotiation of French and international contracts, audits of royalty settlements, pre-litigation, litigation, administrative assistance, tax advice, while focusing on : 

  • friendly exchanges, adapted as far as possible to the way customers interact with professionals in their sector of activity;
  • availability by e-mail, WhatsApp and telephone;
  • communication in French and English;
  • transparent, reasonable prices tailored to the customer's needs and stage of development. 

Claire is well aware that digital technology has considerably transformed culture, particularly music with NFTs and live performance with the Metaverse, which is why she wanted to set up a structure fully in line with this evolutionary and entrepreneurial context, for which yesterday's codes are no longer today's codes.

Claire's clients can therefore count on her dynamism, determination and 15 years' experience in drafting and negotiating French and international contracts, as well as in settling complex disputes, to benefit from genuine expertise as well as responsive and rigorous support in dealing with the issues they face.

  • Claire Prugnier, admitted to the Paris Bar in 2008, with 20 years' experience in intellectual property, both in media law firms and in record companies (she worked for 3 years in London for the record and publishing company of one of the world's best-known DJs).
     
  • Camille Mercier, initially a business affairs in a record company, then with Claire Prugnier Avocats since September 2021.
     
  • Lucile Vasse, admitted to the Paris Bar in 2019. In August 2022, she joined Claire Prugnier Avocats after 3 years' experience in a firm renowned for its expertise in the culture, media and communications sector. 
  • Nathaniel Schilli has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2012 and a partner of Claire Prugnier Avocats since 2020. With expertise in employment law, business law as well as civil and commercial litigation, he has gained invaluable experience with several renowned Parisian law firms.  

 

Together, they offer comprehensive legal support to clients in the cultural industries: setting up companies, drafting and negotiating French and international contracts, audits of royalties, settlements, pre-litigation, litigation, administrative assistance, tax advice, all with the emphasis on :

During this time, she spent over 7 years in a specialist law firm where she gained considerable experience in intellectual property. This experience enabled her to move to London in 2015 where she worked for the record label and publishing company of one of the most popular and reputed DJs of the world. 

In January 2018, she launched her own law firm in order to represent a more diverse range of clients in the entertainment industry (i.e. entrepreneurs, artists, producers, composers, managers, record companies and publishers).

She is now working with :

  • Nathaniel Schilli, member of the Paris Bar, on all emplacement and coporate aspects,
  • Camille Mercier, Lawyer, on all Intellectual Property and digital aspects,
  • Lucile Vasse, member of the Paris Bar, on all Intellectual Property and digital aspects.

Claire understands that the digital world has drastically changed the cultural industries, namely music, with the streaming and the NFT. This is why she wanted to create more structure within this scaleable and entrepreneurial context. 

To achieve this she focuses her work on the following:

  • Friendly and effective communication with her clients ;
  • Easy accessibility by email or phone ;
  •  Dual language access in French or English ;
  • Transparent and reasonable pricing adjusted to the stage of development of the client

Claire's clients can rely not only on her determination but also her 15 years of experience and reputation for her ability to draft and negotiate French and International contracts as well as settle complex litigations.
